What’s included in individual membership?

Members enjoy access to the pottery studio from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., 7 days a week*. Our member-reserved room and wheels mean that there is space to work even when classes are in session. Keep reading to learn more…

Membership includes bisque and glaze firings, use of studio equipment, tools, glazes and numerous other materials, a dedicated personal space for storage of works in progress and personal tools, and at least one bisque firing and one glaze firing per week. We keep two different kinds of clay in stock for purchase by our members, whom we encourage to purchase clay directly from Staunton Clayground.**

Need some help, advice or just someone to bounce your ideas off of? The studio manager or another experienced potter will be in the studio at scheduled times for approximately nine hours every week to offer assistance as needed! Need to brush up on making lids or handles? Special member-only workshops roughly once a month will focus on specific topics or skills.

Members also enjoy a 10% discount on classes, courses and workshops.

Individual membership fee: $85 per month)***

What’s included in family membership?

Family Memberships make it easier to create alongside the ones you love by offering all of the same benefits as individual membership, at a discount, to people signing up under a family membership plan. Choose between plans for 2 adults or 1 adult plus up to 2 household children (minimum age 10). Like individual memberships, family-plan members all enjoy a 10% discount on classes, courses and workshops.

Family membership fee: $150 per month***

Please note, this Membership program is intended for small-scale and amateur potters. Production potters should contact the Studio Manager directly to inquire about whether special arrangements can be made to accommodate their needs.

*With the exception of major public holidays. Closures will be communicated in advance.

**We keep two kinds of stoneware clay in stock at the studio, both of which we fire to Cone 5/6. One is speckled brown and the other is white. Clay may be purchased by members in person at the studio when a staff member is present or from our online store for in-person pickup. Members are strongly encouraged to purchase clay directly from the studio, as this helps us to offset firing and glaze costs. Other types of clay are available for purchase through Staunton Clayground. If members wish to use clay they purchase elsewhere, they will need to pay additional firing costs. All outside clay and/or glazing materials must be suitable for Cone 5/6 firing and are subject to prior approval by studio management.

***Fee schedule subject to periodic review and revision.
